New Information – please read this!

Just to bring people up to date about what is going to be happening and what to expect.   Anything else you would like to know, please phone or email us and we will be happy to let you know the answers…. PLEASE READ THE FAQ Above all  we want to have a nice day in the woods with our friends and family – everything else is secondary so there will be lots of time to talk to you all and enjoy some music in the evening.

CONFETTI
Absolutely not, we don’t want to spend Sunday picking up soggy bits of paper and tinsel.

GIFTS
If you are bringing cards and gifts remember that for us this day is about Phoebe too as we become a family unit, not just a couple.

PARKING
Car parking space is very tight so please, if you know someone else who is coming, consider car-sharing as this will be a big help. Get in touch with us if you want to offer a lift to someone but you’re not sure who is in your area.

CAMERAS/CAMCORDERS
Obviously everyone is welcome to bring any cameras and video cameras they wish as the more pictures/video footage we have the better.  What I would like to ask is if it would be possible to have copies of anything that is taken for inclusion onto a DVD.   With photographs it would be ideal if they could be copied to a disk rather than emailed as most email programs reduce the size of pictures prior to sending and we would like them to be as high a quality as possible.  Thanks.

RUNNING ORDER
We have decided to post our running order on here so that you know what to expect when you arrive – the order may vary slightly on the day and in case of rain all events can be held indoors in the beautiful timber framed building on site.   There will be no formal first dance, no flowers or extravagant decorations (the setting itself is lovely enough)

11 am – Campers may arrive to set up tents (see camping info please)

1.50 pm – Guests assemble in ceremony circle, please leave space towards the front for parents/siblings and bridesmaids.

2 pm – Handfasting Ceremony

2.30pm – photographs within ceremony area and woodlands – music  in main celebration area.
Use this time to explore the beautiful surroundings and talk to other guests. Drinks will be available at all times in the main arena.

5 pm – Reception guests arrive and more photographs to make sure we get everyone in our pictures.

6 pm – speeches and cake cutting.

6.30 pm – Dinner is served!  This is an informal hog roast with vegetarian provision, with lots of seating areas for you to mix and mingle, please don’t expect a seating list or named places – help yourselves and chill out!

7.30 pm – Knitter’s Jig Ceilidh band will perform for us all with lots of dancing and merrymaking.

10.30 pm – Band will finish and we can all sit round a camp fire and enjoy each other’s company.

Exciting times :)

A lot has been happening over the past few days. Most of the invitations have now gone out, the dresses for the bridesmaids are now well under way, and we now (provisionally) have a band booked so we can all have a good ol’ dance. They’re a great ceilidh band called ‘The Knitters Jig’. I’ve added a link to their website in the links section so you can go see and hear what they’re all about. There has been a minor update to the functionality of this site as well. Visitors are now able to register on the site (only takes a couple of minutes) and send private messages to us as well as each other. This is done from your profile page once you have registered.
Other than that we’ve also been busy with domestic stuff as well, mainly bottling lots of homemade wine and cider and starting some more off to brew. Happy days :)

Creative happenings!

Well with twelve weeks to go to the big day, Moira is making a start on decorations for the woodland. Bunting with pagan symbols and runes are underway at last and with the invitations nearly ready to go and Chris’ brilliant work on this website it is finally starting to feel as if this wedding is going to happen. We are starting to get excited YAY!
